"Ready to run!" at the 5x5 km TEAM STAFFEL run of Berliner Wasserbetriebe
Our hardworking athletes made the place 1.895 out of 5.170 teams. A great result!
Our runners Ralf Hundert, Nancy Olberg, Björn Kopischke, Heiko Marschner, and Roald Purtz were diligently cheered on by colleagues aside the course track. Especially this motivated them to a finish time of 02:19:04. Congratulations, we are proud of you!
The weather also played its part: Berlin showed its best side with beautiful summer weather accompanied by a gentle breeze.
Ralf Hundert started the run at 18:30 and handed the baton after 5 kilometers over to the only woman of the relay race team, Nany Olberg. Perfect handovers to Björn Kopischke and Heiko Marschner were followed before Roald Purtz took over the final sprint and brought the baton to the finish line with a smile on his face. As it should be, the success was then celebrated with a cozy picnic in the district “Tiergarten”.
We are already looking forward to next year when it’s time to say "Go Vanguard!" again.
