Sustainability on a Global Scale: Vanguard Supports environmental protection in Bali

Since April 1, 2024, Vanguard has proudly partnered with CleanHub in protecting the world's oceans. Our goal is to collect 4,000 kg of non-recyclable plastic from coastal regions in Bali, making an additional contribution to environmental protection.

Plastic Waste Pollutes the Oceans

Plastic pollution is one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time. On average, 9 million tons of plastic enter the world’s oceans each year. Coastal regions without proper waste management infrastructure are particularly affected, as plastic waste is often disposed of uncontrollably and ends up in the sea – this is where CleanHub steps in.

Who Is CleanHub?

Founded in 2020, CleanHub’s mission is to reduce the uncontrolled influx of plastic by 50%. The organization works closely with local communities in coastal regions to establish sustainable waste management systems. Plastic waste is systematically collected, recyclable materials are reintegrated into the circular economy, and non-recyclable waste is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. A digital tracking system documents the entire process, ensuring transparency.

However, CleanHub provides more than just an efficient waste management system, by working with local communities, it creates safe jobs for people in the region. Additionally, the next generation is introduced to environmental protection early on through educational programs.

Vanguard’s Contribution: Clearing Bali’s Beaches of Plastic

Sustainability is deeply embedded in Vanguard’s DNA, driving us to extend our commitment beyond our own industry. By supporting CleanHub’s efforts in Bali, we are actively contributing to environmental protection. Specifically, we aim to collect 4,000 kg of non-recyclable plastic from Bali’s coasts – the equivalent of approximately 200,000 plastic bottles. At the same time, we are creating secure employment opportunities, with a total of 220 working hours dedicated to collecting and managing plastic waste. As a result, nearly 1,000 households will benefit from a functional waste disposal system.

Taking Responsibility Together

Environmental protection is a complex challenge that requires long-term solutions. Vanguard already prioritizes sustainable processes and promotes circular economy principles in the medical device industry. Through our partnership with CleanHub, we are expanding our commitment, thinking globally, and actively taking responsibility.
